Cranston, Rhode Island. September 27, 2023 – SyQwest Inc.,
a leading supplier of tactical solutions for US Navy surface ship
and submarine sonar systems and components, announced today that the
U.S. Navy has awarded it a five-year ID/IQ contract with a maximum
value at completion of $2.5M.
Under the contract, SyQwest Inc
will produce DT-100/DT-699 submarine power cables. These cables
connect to the High Frequency Sail Array receive array hydrophone
modules which are installed on US Navy attack class submarines.
Additionally, Syqwest Inc has received a NAVSEA S9320-AM-PRO-020
certification to manufacture submarine cables making it one of only
a few US Navy suppliers in the country to earn this qualification.
As a result, Syqwest Inc is now an approved vendor to fabricate,
mold and inspect outboard cable assemblies for the US Navy. The
certification was granted after an extensive audit performed by
NAVSEA.
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, R.I.,
is the contracting agency. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC)
is the Navy's full-spectrum research, development, test and
evaluation, engineering and fleet support center for submarines,
autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive weapons
systems associated with undersea warfare.
