Display
The user alters display format -from full screen video data of either one of the two installed frequencies, or to a split screen representation of both frequencies in dual channel mode (interleaved transmit).  The DISPLAY key also works in combination with the EVENT, RANGE and GAIN keys to allow control of frequency selections, system self test initialization and system master reset function.  View the EVENT, RANGE and GAIN key descriptions for additional information about these functions.

Range
The RANGE key displays the Set Range/Phase menu for selection of the scale used to display the acoustic depth data.  Range and Phasing are selected manually or can be operated in a fully automatic mode.
Available ranges are 0-5, 0-10, 0-20, 0-40, 0-200, 0-800, 0-2000, 0-5000.    Available phases are 0-400, 200-600, 400-800, 600-1000 through 4600-5000.

The RANGE key, used in combination with the DISPLAY key, is used to activate the system self test.
The system performs a self test at start up. The same self test may be run at any time using the RANGE/DISPLAY key combination.

Menu
The MENU key displays the Main Menu which includes selections for controlling alarm settings, LCD and thermal chart speed, data storage options, Interference Rejection (IR) filtering, gate depth (or blanking depth) and system configuration parameters (e.g., units of measurement, draft offsets, date/time settings, communication port settings and printer selection).

Event
An Event mark annotation, which is presented on both the LCD display and the external printer, is activated via the front panel keypad or from an external annotation source which provides the annotation string data.  Each event is also noted in the data storage file.

The EVENT key, used in combination with the DISPLAY key, is used to activate the Set Frequency menu.  From the Set Frequency menu, the user sets the frequency to match the selected transducer frequency for each channel.

Gain
The user alters receiver gain manually or selects fully-automatic gain control.
The user may also activate an interference rejection feature which allows the instrument to remove spurious acoustic noise from the graphical LCD chart representation.

The GAIN key, used in combination with the DISPLAY key, is used to display the Master Reset menu.  Performing a master reset forces the Bathy-1500 to set all system parameters to factory defaults.

Contrast
The user can adjust the LCD display contrast to optimize the display for any environment.  If the CONTRAST key is held down for 3 seconds then the contrast is set to the mid-range value.
